Old Testament Scripture Reading: Micah 4:1 – 3 ( KJV)

Mic 4:1  But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.

Mic 4:2  And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Mic 4:3  And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 2Cor 4:7 – 14 (KJV)

2Co 4:7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

2Co 4:8  We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

2Co 4:9  Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

2Co 4:10  Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

2Co 4:11  For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

2Co 4:12  So then death worketh in us, but life in you.

2Co 4:13  We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

2Co 4:14  Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The Scriptures reveal that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for every and all people groups of the world; (Gentiles and Jews) which will culminate in the reign of God the Son (Psalm 2) Who will direct and judge all nations from Jerusalem as spoken by the prophet Micah. (And others as well)

2) Both Old & New Testament Scriptures indicate that God the Son is the focal point of all the treasures of God in bodily form, Who has been sent into the world to be the embodiment of God the Father and the fulfillment of all the covenant promises made from the foundation of the world.

3) Being disciples of Jesus Christ, we are learning to not only know and adorn (wear on the outside) the treasures of Christ, but also that it is not without continual difficulty that we do so, as we walk in faith, in pursuit of Christ-likeness, being persecuted and afflicted by those without understanding, as well as those within the body of Christ who fail to understand this calling.
