What is the meaning of ‘Sanctification’? Must all Christians be ‘Sanctified’? If so, are there any hinderences, and accelerators that may be applied? Just what reasons are there for us to adjust our ways of thinking about these things? Well, listen in as Pastor Landis Fisher teaches a less on this vital topic called: “Adjusting From You To New”
Old Testament Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 26:16 – 19 (KJV)
Deu 26:16 This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
Deu 26:17 Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:
Deu 26:18 And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;
Deu 26:19 And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.
New Testament Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:11 – 21 (KJV)
2 Cor 5:11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
2 Cor 5:12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.
2 Cor 5:13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.
2 Cor 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
2 Cor 5:15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2 Cor 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2 Cor 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2 Cor 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2 Cor 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2 Cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Transforming Power Statements:
1) The adjustment from being ourselves, or from our old manner of life is a reqiurement of true saving faith and brings believers to a cross roads and even into a warfare against everything that opposes the Bible, and is guided by the in-dwelling Holy Spirit of God Who provides conviction, instruction, and comfort through out the entire process.
2) Learning from the Holy Spirit to “take off the Old and put on the New” is the mission and desire of the Holy Spirit, but also is a command of the Holy Scriptures for each one to put forth maximum effort to accomplish the things God has wrought in your life, as He works all things together for good and for God’s glory.
3) Adjusting from YOU to NEW is a combined work of the Spirit of God and the Word of God that is applied to every one who believes the Gospel and is a wonderful benefit of the free salvation God has provided through Jesus Christ His Son!!!
