Old Testament Scripture Reading: Exodus 20:1 – 17 (KJV) |
|
Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exo 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exo 20:6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
Exo 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exo 20:12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Exo 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Exo 20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Exo 20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Exo 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s. |

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1Timothy 6:20- 2Timothy 1:1 – 11 (NASB) |
|
1 Tim 6:20 O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”–
1 Tim 6:21 which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith. Grace be with you.
2 Tim 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, according to the promise of life in Christ Jesus,
2 Tim 1:2 to Timothy, my beloved son: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
2 Tim 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve with a clear conscience the way my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers night and day,
2 Tim 1:4 longing to see you, even as I recall your tears, so that I may be filled with joy.
2 Tim 1:5 For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.
2 Tim 1:6 And for this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
2 Tim 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
2 Tim 1:8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, or of me His prisoner; but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,
2 Tim 1:9 who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
2 Tim 1:10 but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
2 Tim 1:11 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher. |

Transforming Power Statements:
#1) A godly mother is one of God’s most powerful weapons against the powers of darkness that the world has ever known.
#2) In order to prevent serious in-equality by men against women, God designed it so that men have many dependencies on His design that He provided only through motherhood to benefit all of mankind, since man’s birth and salvation {i.e. being born & being born again!} could only be accomplished to the praise of the wisdom of God in His design of the female of the species.
#3) The duty of parenting in general, and perhaps more so for mothers has been afforded the greatest opportunities to shape the world-view of the next generation. |
