Tribute To The Fatherhood Of Our Father

print
The celebration of “Father’s Day” has always in my lifetime, been” under-celebrated” (especially in comparison to “Mother’s Day”) but in my opinion the day deserves to be celebrated even more! Join me today as we consider what a beautiful thing it is as we share in a ” Tribute To The Fatherhood Of Our Father”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

Pro 22:6  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

New Testament Scripture Reading: James 1:17 – 22 (KJV)

Jas 1:17  Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Jas 1:18  Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Jas 1:19  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Jas 1:20  For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Jas 1:21  Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Jas 1:22  But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) Fatherhood is important because it is the basis of the human family and has many attributes that perpetuate humanity, and it therefore, produces everything “good or bad” that we see in the culture.

2) The “training up” of a child has to do with the shaping of the character qualities instilled during the raising of a child which shapes the way we become as adults, who are also tasked with this same perpetual task!

3) Everyone who is born again must have a New Birth experience which is provided by God The Holy Spirit upon the hearing of the Gospel with believing faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Only Begotten Son”!
