Practicing The Privilege Of Praise

Today’s message highlights our personal need to offer praise to God for everything! In times past the Psalmists and Prophets were motivated to praise God, and this legacy is also expressed in the New Testament after New Testament Prophets and the Apostles admonish the Church also to be “Practicing The Privilege Of Praise”!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 150:1 – 6 (KJV)

Psa 150:1  Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.

Psa 150:2  Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.

Psa 150:3  Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.

Psa 150:4  Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Psa 150:5  Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.

Psa 150:6  Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.

New Testament Scripture Reading:  Philippians 4:4 – 9 (KJV)

Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

Php 4:5  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Php 4:9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
