Walking by faith is essential for our lives since we have been called to be learners / disciples of Jesus Christ, so that we can do everything in accordance with the truth of the Gospel and according to the commands taught to the Apostles of the early Church. They has a very simple premise that is to remain in place until the end of this Church Age; which is: “Serving Jesus At All Costs”
Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 32:1 – 2 (KJV)
Psa 32:1 A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Psa 32:2 Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Matthew 13:24 – 30 (KJV)
Mat 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
Mat 13:25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
Mat 13:26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
Mat 13:27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
Mat 13:28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
Mat 13:29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
Mat 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Transforming Power Statements:
1) David the Psalmist fully understood that nobody anywhere could be saved by their own good works apart from the forgiveness of Almighty God, Who has divided all people into groups, which are the ones who’s transgressions are not covered and the one’s whose are, because there are none who are righteous on their own!
2) In the parable of the tares and wheat, Jesus teaches that there are only two groups as well; the saved and the lost, and that it is God who really knows who each group is, and that He will separate them all in His righteous judgment; therefore, we are to let them grow together and He will take care of the sorting at the appropriate time.
3) It is at the very height of necessity that we all each live as we are in the course of our discipleship, Serving Jesus At All Costs; in order to be sure that we are in the group that is gathered into the LORD’s barn; not the group that shall be destroyed into eternal wrath and judgment!
