Old Testament Scripture Reading: Micah 5:1 – 9 (NASB) |
|
Micah 5:1 “Now muster yourselves in troops, daughter of troops; They have laid siege against us; With a rod they will smite the judge of Israel on the cheek.
Micah 5:2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity.”
Micah 5:3 Therefore, He will give them up until the time When she who is in labor has borne a child. Then the remainder of His brethren Will return to the sons of Israel.
Micah 5:4 And He will arise and shepherd His flock In the strength of the LORD, In the majesty of the name of the LORD His God. And they will remain, Because at that time He will be great To the ends of the earth.
Micah 5:5 And this One will be our peace. When the Assyrian invades our land, When he tramples on our citadels, Then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight leaders of men.
Micah 5:6 And they will shepherd the land of Assyria with the sword, The land of Nimrod at its entrances; And He will deliver us from the Assyrian When he attacks our land And when he tramples our territory.
Micah 5:7 Then the remnant of Jacob Will be among many peoples Like dew from the LORD, Like showers on vegetation Which do not wait for man Or delay for the sons of men.
Micah 5:8 And the remnant of Jacob Will be among the nations, Among many peoples Like a lion among the beasts of the forest, Like a young lion among flocks of sheep, Which, if he passes through, Tramples down and tears, And there is none to rescue.
Micah 5:9 Your hand will be lifted up against your adversaries, And all your enemies will be cut off. |

New Testament Scripture Reading: Matthew 1:24 – 2:11 (NASB) |
|
Mat 1:24 And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took her as his wife,
Mat 1:25 and kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.
Mat 2:1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
Mat 2:2 “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him.”
Mat 2:3 And when Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
Mat 2:4 And gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he began to inquire of them where the Christ was to be born.
Mat 2:5 And they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it has been written by the prophet,
Mat 2:6 ‘AND YOU, BETHLEHEM, LAND OF JUDAH, ARE BY NO MEANS LEAST AMONG THE LEADERS OF JUDAH; FOR OUT OF YOU SHALL COME FORTH A RULER, WHO WILL SHEPHERD MY PEOPLE ISRAEL.'”
Mat 2:7 Then Herod secretly called the magi, and ascertained from them the time the star appeared.
Mat 2:8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Go and make careful search for the Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, that I too may come and worship Him.”
Mat 2:9 And having heard the king, they went their way; and lo, the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them, until it came and stood over where the Child was.
Mat 2:10 And when they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
Mat 2:11 And they came into the house and saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him; and opening their treasures they presented to Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh. |

Transforming Power Statements:
#1) God has devised only one plan for the salvation of all nations either Jews or Gentiles. This plan was promised and executed by God through His Only Begotten Son, JESUS the Messiah.
#2) Satan has labored from the very beginning to create false religion and an assortment of damnable doctrine against the one clear plan that God has declared for all nations.
#3) It is a supreme honor that the church has been given the privilege to notify all the nations of the only acceptable hope God has ordained through His Son Jesus The Christ.
