The Spirit of Christmas:Come along and consider some very interesting factors of the age-old gospel themes of the Word as Pastor Landis teaches about the real meaning of Christmas and the reality of the diety of the Christ the Special Son of the Most High GOD!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 22:5 – 13  (NASB)
1 Chr 22:5  And David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the LORD shall be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all lands. Therefore now I will make preparation for it.” So David made ample preparations before his death.
1 Chr 22:6  Then he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the LORD God of Israel.
1 Chr 22:7  And David said to Solomon, “My son, I had intended to build a house to the name of the LORD my God.
1 Chr 22:8  “But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood, and have waged great wars; you shall not build a house to My name, because you have shed so much blood on the earth before Me.
1 Chr 22:9  ‘Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.
1 Chr 22:10  ‘He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
1 Chr 22:11  “Now, my son, the LORD be with you that you may be successful, and build the house of the LORD your God just as He has spoken concerning you.
1 Chr 22:12  “Only the LORD give you discretion and understanding, and give you charge over Israel, so that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.
1 Chr 22:13  “Then you shall prosper, if you are careful to observe the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be dismayed.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Luke 1:26 – 37  (NASB)
Luke 1:26  Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee, called Nazareth,
Luke 1:27  to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
Luke 1:28  And coming in, he said to her, “Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you.”
Luke 1:29  But she was greatly troubled at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this might be.
Luke 1:30  And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.
Luke 1:31  “And behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
Luke 1:32  “He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;
Luke 1:33  and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; and His kingdom will have no end.”
Luke 1:34  And Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?”
Luke 1:35  And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God.
Luke 1:36  “And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month.
Luke 1:37  “For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Transforming Power Statements:

1)     The anticipation of a “Special Son” has been a running theme in the biblical record that was progressively developed as a foundation to support the prophecies and their fulfillments of covenantal promises given to mankind from God in regard to God’s plans for the salvation of mankind.
2)     Due to the increasing depth of the subject of the anticipation of a “Special Son” only God Himself could ever have brought such a complex set of realities to pass.
3)     Since the prophecies of a “Special Son” are such a dominant theme in holy Scripture, no one can be excused from believing in the Son of God who is the very crux of salvation.
