Receiving and Abiding Within the Way of The Holy Spirit

Old Testament Scripture Reading:

Gen 6:1  And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

Gen 6:2  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Gen 6:3  And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

New Testament Scripture # 1 of 2:

Rom 7:18  For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.

Rom 7:19  For the good that I want, I do not do, but I practice the very evil that I do not want.

Rom 7:20  But if I am doing the very thing I do not want, I am no longer the one doing it, but sin which dwells in me.

Rom 7:21  I find then the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good.

Rom 7:22  For I joyfully concur with the law of God in the inner man,

Rom 7:23  but I see a different law in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin which is in my members.

Rom 7:24  Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?

Rom 7:25  Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin.

NASB TRANSLATION: Ministers of the New Covenant

2Co 3:1  Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some, letters of commendation to you or from you?

2Co 3:2  You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men;

2Co 3:3  being manifested that you are a letter of Christ, cared for by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

2Co 3:4  Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.

2Co 3:5  Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,

2Co 3:6  who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

1) Each person who is led by the Holy Spirit of God receives a new birth from above which causes them to be able to SEE the KINGDOM of the Living GOD!

2) Each person who is being led by the Holy Spirit of God is becoming increasingly more like Jesus, Who is the PERFECT EXAMPLE of All things Godly, and All things HUMAN!

3) The battle between the flesh and the Spirit begins upon the new birth and continues all the way into the grave, where ultimately, the Spirit declares VICTORY!
