Armored Against Fear

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 27:1 – 5 ( KJV)

Psa 27:1  A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psa 27:2  When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

Psa 27:3  Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Psa 27:4  One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

Psa 27:5  For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 6:1 – 10 (KJV)

2Co 6:1  We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

2Co 6:2  (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

2Co 6:3  Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

2Co 6:4  But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses,

2Co 6:5  In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings;

2Co 6:6  By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned,

2Co 6:7  By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

2Co 6:8  By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

2Co 6:9  As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

2Co 6:10  As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) As it was stated by Moses and many other saints of the Old Testament, God is our protector and covering from everything; He is the STRONG TOWER for all who trust in Him; just as the Psalmist says here; the Most High God is our light and salvation; Whom shall we fear?? NOBODY!

2) What armors us from all the negative things that occur in life is possessing a correct understanding of the Word of God which gives faith to the ones who hear it and strength to everyone who believes what God has said and that it applies to them personally.

3) The Apostle Paul learned to wear the armor and wrote to the Corinthians about how they should live based on what God has said and the fact that He has kept His word by sending His Son Jesus to provide the only acceptable covering for all who believe Him and His victory over death and the grave.
