The Meaning of the Cross_TBRC_002Greetings and welcome to Teaching Bible Radio!

In this installment of Teachingbible Radio we are featuring an excerpt from a prison service in which Pastor Landis Fisher had opportunity to share with the inmates in a Missouri Prison the life-transforming message of the gospel of Jesus Christ during a chapel service. If you would like to hear the message in it’s entirety, since only a portion of the teaching will fit into the time allowed on the broadcast, please email your request to radio@teachingbible.org or call us toll free at 1-877-35-BIBLE or 1-877-352-4253

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Selected Verses  (NASB)
Prov 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding.
Prov 3:6  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Selected Verses  (KJV / NASB)
(NASB Translation)

Heb 12:1  Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2  fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

(KJV)

Mat 27:46  And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

(KJV)

John 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
(KJV)

John 19:28  After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

(KJV)

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
John 3:18  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

#1) Salvation is the starting point in getting right with God. This is done by believing in Jesus Christ and His personal sacrifice offered to God The Father on the Cross of Calvary, and knowing that only this sacrifice and your faith in Christ Jesus alone can set you right with God. Not by any works that we have done in righteousness. (Please believe this!)

#2) The sacrifice of Christ is the only acceptable cleanser for human sin and has been made available for all sinners of every kind and whosoever trusts completely in the finished work of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, has the promise from God that you shall be saved!

#3) Stop wasting time, give up on all hope of there being anything else that might set you right with God and know in your heart that Jesus Christ has paid it all and that He did it just for YOU!!
