Living in the Promised Man

As we prepare for the beautiful season of Christmas, the celebration of the coming of Jesus the Messiah, our Pastor teacher, Landis Fisher has prepared a series examining from the Holy Scriptures some texts that teach us about the subject that are not often discussed this time of year, but are certainly verses adding meaning and content to the true meaning of this most lavish of all holidays celebrated the world round in a message which he has titled: ” Living In The Promised Man”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Eccl 2:9 – 11  (KJV)

Ecc 2:9  So I was great, and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem: also my wisdom remained with me.
Ecc 2:10  And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.
Ecc 2:11  Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1Tim 2:3 – 6  (KJV)

1Ti 2:3  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
1Ti 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
1Ti 2:6  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) There are many passages that teach us about promises that God made to the covenant people that they would inherit a “land of promise”; which God stated to produce hope and destiny into their lives, as they were to walk with God in order to see the promises He had made come to pass, and because of their unbelief, many of them never did get to see the things God had promised come to pass.

2) The deeper theme within the many things God had promised was the promise of a “Man” known as “the Messiah” (Jesus) Who would be revealed to the world as the Redeemer of all mankind, and the only acceptable mediator between God and man, which is what was fulfilled on the first Christmas when Jesus was born with the purpose of being that sacrifice promised by God at the onset of sin.

3) When everything has been done, the knowledge of Jesus and the fact that He alone is the chosen, provided mediator between all people everywhere and Almighty God shall be revealed, and all people will be accountable to the facts about Who He is and even the Jews will know that God’s most important purpose and place for fellowship is in “Living in the promised Man {Jesus}”, which is the only place of blessing and right standing before God.
