Cultivating a Heart of Thankfulness
Greetings in Christ Jesus! As we in America approach another season of Thanksgiving, our Pastor Teacher, Landis Fisher has prepared a message specifically for this occasion teaching on how we should be not just during this time of year, but throughout the entire year based completely on the finished work of Jesus Christ His Son. Listen today as he presents a message he has titled: “Cultivating a Heart of Thankfulness”

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:50 – 58 (KJV) |
|
1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Transforming Power Statements:
1) The giving of thanks to God should be a constant thing in the everyday life of all people everywhere, but many who are saved and lost, unfortunately fail to give thanks to the degree that is truly appropriate considering the immense magnitude of mercy given by God lavishly every second of everyday.
2) The saved especially need to recognize that God’s abundant grace is worthy of thanks and praise at every hour in every day, and that regardless of any existing difficulties we are dealing with, God has dealt with us generously having poured out favor on us with no end!
3) The ingratitude of the fallen world tends to affect our understanding of the incomprehensible boundless outpouring of the love and grace of our holy God, who alone has provided His Son Jesus to fulfill all His requirements for the salvation of whosoever believes in Him all by Himself!
