Families Walking In The Courage of Faith

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:27 – 31 (KJV) |
|
Isa 40:27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
Isa 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
Isa 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
Isa 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 5:6 – 11 (KJV) |
|
1Pe 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1Pe 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1Pe 5:11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Transforming Power Statements:
1) The oppressions of life being caused by internal personal sinfulness as well as being externally impacted by others in the world walking in complete unbelief, whether intentionally or incidentally, produces, even for the family of the faithful an intense anxiety powered by many increasingly negative powers which work against the constitution of sound faith in an unchanging, omnipotent, omnipresent God.
2) As we recognize that this has been the “routine pattern” of the fallen world which is headed for self-chosen destruction against the will of a loving God, Who has made Himself known in all generations by the display of His mighty hand, and in these last days through the revelation of His Only-begotten Son, Jesus the Messiah, Whom He has made famous in all the earth, to declare His great love, we have need to remember His perfect credentials during times of affliction so that we do not fret regardless of whatever we may be going through and even how tragic things may seem on the surface.
3) God’s track record is proof enough for us to learn to pray ourselves into humility, which is a state contrary to fallen human desires, so that we can accept our circumstances because we are aware that God has promised to see us through any and every situation we have to face, even the most foreboding of all, which is death, which is why He raised Jesus from the dead so that we who believe in Him may enjoy the peace that passes all understanding!
