Submission to the Mind of Christ

Just one way; operate in submission to the mind of Jesus Christ as revealed in God’s Holy and inerrant Word. Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 25:1 – 8 (KJV) |
|
Psa 25:1 A Psalm of David. Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
Psa 25:2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
Psa 25:3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Psa 25:4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Psa 25:5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Psa 25:6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
Psa 25:7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD.
Psa 25:8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Philippians 2:1 – 6 (KJV) |

Php 2:1 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Php 2:2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Php 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Php 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

Transforming Power Statements:
1) The Scriptures clearly teach that God is merciful and utilizes teaching as a means of adjusting the way of thinking of the ones whom He loves knowing that fallen people have a great struggle dealing with the fallen mind and need instruction to learn how to overcome the things that are contrary to righteousness.
2) The Psalmist reveals that God is ready to forgive and yet teaches those who trust Him in the ways that lead them to right attitudes and produces right actions as the believer walks by faith.
3) The picture of what Jesus did by becoming flesh in order to pay our debt to God no matter what the personal cost to Him was (and it was tremendous!) is the place we must place our minds in order to be able to attain maximum growth in the Spirit.
