Old Testament Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 32:15 – 22 (KJV) |
|
Deu 32:15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Deu 32:16 They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.
Deu 32:17 They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not.
Deu 32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
Deu 32:19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
Deu 32:20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.
Deu 32:21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
Deu 32:22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthinas 10:3 – 6 (KJV) |
|
2Co 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2Co 10:6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Transforming Power Statements:
1) Faith is the product and power of our walk with God and is required to provide satisfaction to God, and must be developed and maintained as we ascend in the closeness of our relationship with God, Who has loved us beyond measure in a very open public manner in the most widely known sacrificial offering in the history of mankind the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of His Only Begotten Son, Jesus the Christ.
2) The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but divinely powered by God for the destruction of fortresses: means that there are spiritual things available to strengthen and reinforce our faith and promote growth which are provided by God the Holy Spirit through His word applied to the mind which produces what is needed to bolster our living practices toward godly outcomes rather than remaining in the bondages of the flesh, the world and the devil.
3) As it was the course of Israel to fail to benefit from their special relationship with God because of their addictions to the things with which He blessed them with; rather than their continuation of their growing pursuit of God’s face rather than His hand, so it is that the “modern Church” excluding the remnant, is also following the same path which brought about their demise; and if the spiritual tools God has provided fail to be utilized; many will also be consumed in God’s wrath rather than being embraced in His best blessings.
