If God is Pleased What About You

As we approach the season of Thanksgiving in America, our teacher Pastor Landis Fisher and his family and official staff would like to wish all of all over the world a very Happy Thanksgiving! Our course of special studies for the holiday season continues this week as our teacher, Pastor Landis Fisher, shares a message which he has titled: ” If God is Pleased What About You?”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 117:1 – 2  (KJV)

Psa 117:1  O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people.
Psa 117:2  For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.

New Testament Scripture Reading: Colossians 1:19 – 29  (KJV)

Col 1:19  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 1:20  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col 1:21  And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
Col 1:22  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Col 1:23  If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Col 1:24  Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church:
Col 1:25  Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Col 1:26  Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
Col 1:27  To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Col 1:28  Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
Col 1:29  Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) The Jews, God’s chosen people, were called to enjoy a special fellowship and intimacy with God not known nor embraced by other people of the earth (GENTILES), therefore, it was through them that God sent His Word and set them as an example to display to all the people of the world how it is to be a child of God, and to be a positive influence as a way of evangelizing others.

2) The finished work of Jesus on the cross has satisfied God the Father ENTIRELY making perfect peace between God and sinful mankind, therefore, because Christ Jesus has of His own freewill, taken the penalty for the sin debt of all people who believe in Him, thus declaring all of them clean in the sight of God; each of the ones who trust in Him by faith are in right standing with God in a state known as Salvation by GRACE ALONE.

3) In many ways the Church is now following in the steps of the Jews by:  their failure to share the truth with the lost for the right Biblical reasons and with the correct Biblical Attitude.  b) Walking is arrogance rather than humility c) Showing evidence of dissatisfaction with Christ alone. d) Being divided among themselves i.e. denominations  e) not walking in exemplary manner by adorning the doctrine of God. f) Operating in a materialistic manner rather than showing good stewardship.
