Walking In Godly Wisdom

In this day and time we have seen a great boom in technology far beyond that of any known time in the past thus far in the recorded history of mankind. Nevertheless, in spite of this tremendous display of knowledge, mankind is obviously sinking deeper and deeper into separation from righteousness and the knowledge of God and is becoming more and more evil along his path. Why is this? Well listen in today as our teacher Pastor Landis Fisher teaches a lesson which he has titled: “Walking in Godly Wisdom”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Proverbs 8:1 – 11  (KJV)

Prov 8:1  Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Prov 8:2  She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
Prov 8:3  She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Prov 8:4  Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
Prov 8:5  O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
Prov 8:6  Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
Prov 8:7  For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Prov 8:8  All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
Prov 8:9  They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
Prov 8:10  Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
Prov 8:11  For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 2:1 – 14  (KJV)

1 Cor 2:1  And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1 Cor 2:2  For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
1 Cor 2:3  And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
1 Cor 2:4  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
1 Cor 2:5  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
1 Cor 2:6  Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
1 Cor 2:7  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
1 Cor 2:8  Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1 Cor 2:9  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,

neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1 Cor 2:10  But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
1 Cor 2:11  For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
1 Cor 2:12  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1 Cor 2:13  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1 Cor 2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Transforming Power Statements:

1) There is a major difference in the “wisdom of the world” and “The Wisdom of God” to the point that all who fail to discern the differences will miss salvation and also deprive themselves of a more abundant life, which comes only through a sufficient relationship with God through Jesus Christ His SON!!!

2) Human language is one of the greatest points of distinction between people and other forms of life in God’s creation and therefore, the usage of the tongue has a great impact on the outcome of an individuals position with respect to walking in Godly Wisdom.

3) Walking in “Godly Wisdom” requires a rich knowledge of the holy and is a progressive work of God in the lives of the ones who seek His face and rely on His Spirit and His Word daily and have chosen to walk by faith and not by sight.
