We are living in a period of time when there is much discussion and even misunderstanding on one of the Bible’s most vital topics for our understanding , which Pastor Landis Fisher shall address in a brief but powerful series on “Faith”. Mostly everyone has some personal idea about “Faith”, but just what does the Scripture have to teach us on it?

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Heb 11:2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Heb 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Heb 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Transforming Power Statements:
1) The biblical definition of faith teaches us that “saving faith” itself is a gift from God that continues to grow as we learn to yield to God’s Word and the leading of His Holy Spirit, therefore we may conclude that there are processes and phases of spiritual development into which we grow as we mature in our relationship with God, through our relationship with Christ Jesus, as we are led by the indwelling Holy Spirit.
2) The Gospel teaches us that it is by faith in Jesus Christ alone that we secure the blessings of God and this clearly defines the solitary “object” of saving faith, which is in Christ Jesus Our LORD.
3) Growing us in our faith; is the primary work of the Holy Spirit, (Who has been ‘striving with mankind’ throughout the ages) and must therefore, become the primary goal of the believer as well (who wishes to be all that they can be for God), in that the Holy Spirit is God Who seals, teaches, gifts, maintains, develops, restores, comforts, rebukes, chastises, and empowers every believer; all this and more; and all by FAITH!
