Walking In True FreedomGreetings and happy Independence Day! Straight Gate Minstries teacher, Pastor Landis Fisher, has prepared a special message for the 4th of July 2010 AD pertaining to what the Bible says on the topic of “Walking In True Freedom”. Is it possible that even in a so called “free World” that there can be realities that with hold one from being truly free? Listen in as Pastor Landis Fisher, Assistant Pastor of the Dickerson Memorial Community Church preaches a message from the Gospel of John that he hopes will help us know how to be Walking In True Freedom.

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Genesis 1:26 -28  (kjv)
Gen 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Gen 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Gen 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

New Testament Scripture Reading: John 8:27 – 37  (KJV)
John 8:27  They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
John 8:28  Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
John 8:29  And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
John 8:30  As he spake these words, many believed on him.
John 8:31  Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
John 8:32  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:33  They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
John 8:34  Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
John 8:35  And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
John 8:36  If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:37  I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
Transforming Power Statements:

1) The concept of freedom originates in the sovereign nature of the Triune God, Who He chose to share this attribute with man from the very begining, by creating them last and placing them in dominion over the entire creation.

2) The snow-balling realities of sin have deployed many forms of bondage and are ever increasing against mankind, and make walking in true freedom more difficult as time goes on.

3) Learning that God has sent His Only begotten Son into the world to seek and save that which was lost, and to reconcile all things back to Himself, via the Gospel of our Salvation, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus The Christ, is the only real way to know how to be “Walking In True Freedom” which also provides True Peace to the soul of everyone who believes.
