The Miracle of Messiah

Isn’t it hard to believe that we are down to just one month before Christmas? That special celebration of the birth of Messiah? Straight Gate Ministries and teachingbible.org are pleased to begin a mini-series especially for this occasion, highlighting the impeccable prophecies of the coming Christ and their fulfillment which under gird this festive season that has been trivialized to mere materialism by countless thousands of our time.  It is our prayer that you celebrate the holiday with deepest gratitude to God for all His great provisions which He has poured out richly on us all in Jesus His Son! So, listen in today as our bible teacher, Pastor Fisher addresses from the Word the biblical position on this extremely important topic, in a message called: “The Miracle of Messiah”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 110.1 – 7  (KJV)
Psa 110:1  A Psalm of David. The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Psa 110:2  The LORD shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.
Psa 110:3  Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
Psa 110:4  The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
Psa 110:5  The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
Psa 110:6  He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
Psa 110:7  He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.
New Testament Scripture Reading: Matthew 22:39 – 46  (KJV)
Mat 22:29  Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Mat 22:30  For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Mat 22:31  But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
Mat 22:32  I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Mat 22:33  And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine.
Mat 22:34  But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.
Mat 22:35  Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
Mat 22:36  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38  This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Mat 22:41  While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,
Mat 22:42  Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The son of David.
Mat 22:43  He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
Mat 22:44  The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?
Mat 22:45  If David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
Mat 22:46  And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.
Transforming Power Statements:

#1) Due to the many accurate predictions of the Older Testament and their specificity, it is a miracle that God was doing everything He promised right on schedule with no respect to the resistances of men, both Jew and Gentile as well as the spiritual backlash from the devil and his hosts who were working hard to cause God not to be true.

#2) Because of the perfection stated in the Older Testament it is impossible for Messiah not to have come at that perfect time, otherwise God would not be true, so we appeal to all men Jew and Gentile alike to study the prophecies and pray that God will reveal His Word and impart faith to them so that salvation can be produced in them by faith in Messiah and the promises of God the Father to send His Son!

#3) No matter what we do there is no personal power nor intelligence  that we possess to cause the conversion of a single soul, but the power of God is in the gospel itself, so we just preach it and offer prayers on behalf of the lost that God the Holy Spirit will provide the faith He requires so that others can be saved.
