Glimpse of Eternity

Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is a metaphor that is used to describe hope for better things coming in the immediate future. As we continue our journey through the excellent Gospel of Mark, we zoom in on our LORD revealing to some of His disciples a few points that our teacher Straight Gate Ministries’ Pastor Fisher teaches in a study he calls: “Glimpse of Eternity”

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Daniel 7:11 – 16  (NASB)
Dan 7:11  “Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire.
Dan 7:12
“As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time.
Dan 7:13
“I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him.
Dan 7:14
“And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, That all the peoples, nations, and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.
Dan 7:15
“As for me, Daniel, my spirit was distressed within me, and the visions in my mind kept alarming me.
Dan 7:16  “I approached one of those who were standing by and began asking him the exact meaning of all this. So he told me and made known to me the interpretation of these things:
New Testament Scripture Reading: Mark 9:1 – 10  (KJV)
Mark 9:1  And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.
Mark 9:2  And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.
Mark 9:3  And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.
Mark 9:4  And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
Mark 9:5  And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
Mark 9:6  For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.
Mark 9:7  And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Mark 9:8  And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.
Mark 9:9  And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.
Mark 9:10  And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.
Scripture Notes:

(Psa 2:7 KJV)  I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

(Acts 13:33 KJV)  God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

(Heb 1:5 KJV)  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

(Heb 5:5 KJV)  So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.
