Reconciled For Righteousness

In this message, Pastor: landis teaches us how to get back to where God intended for man to be in the first place and also unlocks some evangelistic keys revealed in the text that instruct us on sharing the Word.

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Psalms 51:1 – 15  (KJV)
Psa 51:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
Psa 51:2  Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
Psa 51:3  For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
Psa 51:4  Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
Psa 51:5  Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psa 51:6  Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Psa 51:7  Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Psa 51:8  Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
Psa 51:9  Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Psa 51:10  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psa 51:11  Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
Psa 51:12  Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
Psa 51:13  Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
New Testament Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 3:7 – 17  (NASB)
1 Pet 3:7  You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.
1 Pet 3:8  To sum up, let all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit;
1 Pet 3:9  not returning evil for evil, or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.
1 Pet 3:10  For, “LET HIM WHO MEANS TO LOVE LIFE AND SEE GOOD DAYS REFRAIN HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING GUILE.
1 Pet 3:11  “AND LET HIM TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD; LET HIM SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT.
1 Pet 3:12  “FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE UPON THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.”
1 Pet 3:13  And who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good?
1 Pet 3:14  But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED,
1 Pet 3:15  but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;
1 Pet 3:16  and keep a good conscience so that in the thing in which you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame.
1 Pet 3:17  For it is better, if God should will it so, that you suffer for doing what is right rather than for doing what is wrong.
Transforming Power Statements:

#1) Reconciliation by faith in the Messiah Jesus, brings each believer to a state of full acceptance by God with no lack, which allows each believer the capability through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit to adjust the things in their lives that have been marred by sin as their knowledge and faith increases.

#2)  The Spirit of God teaches the believer in Jesus as Savior  and provides boldness to state the truth when the need arises for providing a reason why the believer is a believer.

#3) The underlying purpose of our redemption is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Therefore, righteous living must be the product of our dealings and relationships in that righteousness is what God intended and created for His Own from the very beginning.
