Wisdom To SucceedEver wonder why sometimes it seems that we are just not quite able to acheive some goal, hope, aspiration, dream, or maybe just deal with the normal difficulties of life? In this lesson, Pastor: Landis shares some powerful facts from the book of James to shed light on a power source available to every one. If this is you; listen up!

Old Testament Scripture Reading: Proverbs 8:1 – 11  (NASB)
Prov 8:1  Does not wisdom call, And understanding lift up her voice?
Prov 8:2  On top of the heights beside the way, Where the paths meet, she takes her stand;
Prov 8:3  Beside the gates, at the opening to the city, At the entrance of the doors, she cries out:
Prov 8:4  “To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men.
Prov 8:5  “O naive ones, discern prudence; And, O fools, discern wisdom.
Prov 8:6  “Listen, for I shall speak noble things; And the opening of my lips will produce right things.
Prov 8:7  “For my mouth will utter truth; And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
Prov 8:8  “All the utterances of my mouth are in righteousness; There is nothing crooked or perverted in them.
Prov 8:9  “They are all straightforward to him who understands, And right to those who find knowledge.
Prov 8:10  “Take my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choicest gold.
Prov 8:11  “For wisdom is better than jewels; And all desirable things can not compare with her.
New Testament Scripture Reading: James 1:1 – 8  (NASB)
James 1:1  James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad, greetings.
James 1:2  Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,
James 1:3  knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
James 1:4  And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James 1:5  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
James 1:6  But let him ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
James 1:7  For let not that man expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,
James 1:8  being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Transforming Power Statements:

#1) Wisdom is a gift from God that transcends knowledge. Fools may enter the arena of knowledge; but only those who fear the LORD are allowed to access the treasuries of wisdom; for the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
#2) The fear of the LORD can be learned by believers in Jesus Christ through instruction in the Word of God with prayer directly to God Who is the source of all wisdom.
#3) If we lack wisdom let us begin immediately to call on God and believe Him who cannot lie to do what He has promised so that we may devote the rest of our time here on earth to the fullest of His glory.
